Overcoming constraints on Australia's housing construction    

For over four decades, detached housing completions have barely moved. Apartments are taking longer to build, and defect rates remain unacceptably high. Yet until now, no holistic investigation into what's constraining home building rates and quality has been undertaken.  

The result is a sector where entrenched systemic barriers suppress output, and market volatility poses long-term risk to builders, construction rates and quality.
