To celebrate two decades of research, policy engagement, public events and research capacity building, ���������is very pleased to launch the ’20 Years of AHURI’ commemorative publication. As a unique partnership between the Commonwealth and state and territory governments and an Australia-wide network of university partners, ���������has delivered vital research and insights that have guided governments and shaped community thinking.

Approximately 5.3 per cent of Australian veterans who left the Australian Defence Force (ADF) between 2001 and 2018 experienced homelessness, ���������research has revealed. This rate which equates to 5,767 veterans, is significantly higher than that for the general population.

To accompany the release of new research, ���������produces a Policy Evidence Summary (PES), which distils the reports key findings and presents key visualisations, tables and graphs in a concise 4 page-summary.

Led by ���������Executive Director Dr Michael Fotheringham, a delegation of senior Australian housing and homelessness policy officials from the governments of five states and territories (ACT, NSW, NT, VIC, WA) attended briefings from senior industry and government players, eminent academics, and peak community and advocacy providers.

In addition to our wide-ranging research agenda and conference and events program, it has been a busy year for ���������as we continue to contribute to major inquiries, working groups, committees and events across housing and urban policy.
